An amazing variety of musical acts took the stage at Valla Public Hall last Saturday to compete for the title of top talent in Valla.
Ten groups performed and were judged by a panel of three judges who were looking for originality, musical ability, and audience engagement.
The winning act has the opportunity to perform again alongside top performers from the musical world as part of The Festival of Small Halls, which is a national festival aimed at bringing people together in small halls all around Australia to celebrate live musical performance and to foster a sense of community.
The evening opened with a beautiful harmony of songs from the young and talented young Valla Voices choir .
So who won?
It was a close call but The Wild Women of Anywhere Beach took first place followed closely by Valla’d.
The Festival of Small Halls will be held on Saturday, November 25 from 6.30 pm in Valla Public Hall, Valla Rural.
There will be entertainment and delicious food for all. Tickets are $20, free entry for children aged 12 and under . Tickets are available from The Headland Café, Valla Beach Rd or online from festivalofsmallhalls.com/valla .
Thank you to all in the Valla community for organising these events and particular thanks to Lotus Cavagnino who has worked tirelessly to put shows on the road.
