The IGNITE MNC Symposium is a community event in Bowraville on November 8 designed to stimulate new ideas in economic development, collaboration and innovative business practice throughout the Mid North Coast.
“Usually events of regional significance are held in the larger centres of Port Macquarie or Coffs harbour,” Regional Development Australia (RDA) MNC CEO Kerry Grace said.
“But we wanted to showcase a smaller community in the region to demonstrate what is possible.
Bowraville is well versed in hosting unique and creative events, it’s an excellent venue for the event.
IGNITE MNC will be attended by leaders of community, business and government who have an interest in the Mid North Coast region.
The day will feature speakers, the Links2Success Opportunity Hub, Telstra immersion session, a collection of market and information stands featuring the latest government grants, business support and advice, employee support and even healthy workplace tips.
Popular breakout star of ABC’s Gruen Planet and co-host on 10’s The Project, Todd Sampson, will be the guest speaker. Todd is also known for his award-winning science documentary series, Redesign My Brain.
TAFE NSW has collaborated with RDAMNC to develop the Links2Success Opportunity Hub, which will be in Grants Hall and open to the community.
It will allow established businesses, start-ups, not-for-profits and government agencies to showcase themselves and what they offer.
For start-ups, there will be a prize for the most innovative idea.
“IGNITE MNC will bring together leaders of community, government and business and will enable people to extend their networks, link with opportunities from funding to partnerships to staff solutions,” Ms Grace said.
The event will explore the themes collaborate, innovate and self-determine, with a key outcome of the event being the development of a cohesive vision for the region which RDAMNC will draw upon to influence economic development in the region in 2018 and beyond.
