Police are investigating an incident of animal cruelty after four decapitated pelicans were located at a school in Dudley St, Macksville, on Sunday.

An employee at the school arrived about 9am and made the grisly discovery.
Detective Inspector Guy Flaherty said he has not discounted the possibility that the perpetrator was a fox based on past experience.

On Tuesday, at around 9.20am a 35-year-old man was issued with an infringement notice for offensive behaviour after he allegedly verbally abused a number of members of the public in the vicinity of Bowra St, Nambucca Heads.
Police located the man shortly after in Nelson St where he was arrested and taken to Nambucca Heads Police Station.
Earlier that day at 9am police arrested a 39-year-old woman at a caravan park in Nambucca Heads following investigations related to the alleged theft of a purse from an 83-year-old woman that had occurred on September 7.
The accused was charged at Macksville Police Station for the offence and later released on bail to appear before Kempsey Local Court on September 25.
That afternoon at 2:30pm police issued a 32-year-old male driver with a court attendance notice after they stopped his vehicle in Fred Brain Ave, Nambucca Heads.
Checks on the accused confirmed he was currently suspended from driving. The accused man is to appear before Macksville Local Court on October 11.
On Monday, police arrested a 26-year-old man at a residence in Bowraville following investigations related to a lewd image that was allegedly forwarded to a female young person via social media.
The accused was charged at Macksville Police Station where he was refused bail and he is to appear before Coffs Harbour Local Court on October 11.
On Sunday, at 7pm, police arrested a 40-year-old old man in a park at Nambucca Heads following the report of a domestic violence incident.
A 48-year-old woman is alleged to have been assaulted and the accused was charged at Macksville Police Station with common assault and breaching an AVO.
He was refused bail and will appear before Coffs Harbour Local Court on October 30.
