The project was one of 140 worthwhile causes that received a helping hand from Lendlease employees and the work done included general maintenance, laying of paving, installing a new shed, as well as maintenance to existing sheds.
Precast Manager, Mark Davies, said “Community Day was a great part of Lendlease’s history and culture.
“Helping a local community group that means a lot to many of our team members, who have children at the preschool, makes the work that much more worthwhile,” Mr Davies said.
“It’s a great opportunity to give back, as well as get the team together outside of our normal work environment.”
Every year Lendlease employees volunteer alongside their colleagues, community partners, family and suppliers to make a difference in the communities where they live and work.
Community Day projects are sourced and initiated by Lendlease employees, giving them the ability to choose where they want to lend a hand and where they can be most helpful. This reinforces Lendlease’s strong partnerships with the community.
Last year more than 5,000 Lendlease employees participated in Community Day across Australia, the United States, Europe and Asia.
Lendlease employee’s contribution to local community groups goes beyond Community Day. It is complemented by Community 365, a program enabling employees to participate in skilled volunteering all year around.
With Community 365, employees nominate a cause of their choosing and, through regular volunteering, can build their leadership, decision-making and problem solving skills.
