Doug Smith reports – there were 26 bowlers on Thursday for jackpot bowls, and the results was determined by the margin plus ends. With a total of 32 points the winners were a pairs game of Allan Wilkinson and Doug Smith from Jye McAuliffe, Brent Liddell and David Ainsworth with 26 points. The jackpot of $69 is up for grabs today.
On Saturday there was one game of championship triples played, and the winners were Jye McAuliffe, Dale (Ida) Down and Adam Laird from Warren Gallop, Kevin Scott and Gary Witte 20/17. If you have nominated for the 2017 consistency singles then don't forget to come along to the club on Friday September 22, starting at 6pm for the calcutta and the draw.
Nambucca Heads Women
Pat Smith reports – winners Tuesday September 5, Laverty's sponsored day: Alma Reid, Roni Roberts, Myra McKay. Runners-up Sandra Seckold, Pam James, Manor Smith, Jean Schneider.
Thursday September 7 final Major Minor Pairs. Winners were Manor Smith and Pat Fletcher who defeated Lyn Hartman and Bev.Jones, 28 shots to 8.
Nambucca Heads Men
John Richardson reports – the Wednesday Club Selected Triples attracted a field of 40 bowlers. The $10 winners were Ken Harrison, Bob Summerville and Fred Pope. Second place $5 winners were Mick Edwards, Hans Oldenhove and Ian Poletti. Third place, also $5 winners, were John Hunt, Don Lean and Kevin Lill.
Friday, September 8 – the Nominated Men’s Triples attracted 58 bowlers. The $15 first prize winners were Barry Redman, Peter Meehan and Errol Green. The $10 prize winners were Ken Leggett, Graham Allen and John Reynolds. The third place $5 winners were Jack Young, Brian Bevan and Tony Stokes.
Saturday, September 9 – the 2017 Club Championship Minor Singles. The semi-final round results were Bill Miernik (31) defeated Mino Bettanin (26) and Cec Smith (31) defeated Peter McRitchie (20).
Sunday, September 10 – Men’s Bowling Club AGM, the 2017-18 committee was elected unopposed from nominations, filling all posts, posted prior to the meeting. President Tony Stokes, senior VP Terry Harvey, junior VP Brian Bevin, secretary Fred Pope, treasurer Tony Stokes, bowls organiser Mick Boyle and committee members Cliff Ross, Barry Redman, Darryl Lawrence and Ray Hunt.
Scotts Head Women
Kathy Flippence reports – congratulations to Jo Everly, Michelle and Julie Kay on their win in the Ladies triples on Tuesday September 5. Great game girls, from both teams. That gives Jo another feather in her cap after winning the pairs with Michelle and runner-up in the singles against Kate Adams. Not too dusty for a newbie.

Dale Scrivener reports – results for Wednesday, September 6. Winners Martin, Hancock and Scrivener.
Last weekend we were host to 13 clubs for our 'Classic Triples'. Beautiful weather and a full field of 72 players ensured a great weekend. The winners were J Harter , A Low and D Geffreys (Stuarts Point). Second B Webber, T Webber and H Aladjadjian (Port Macquarie/Scotts Head).Third P Burgess, H Dempsey and A Jones (Merewether). Fourth J Olson, M Farrawell and Howard (SWR). Fifth J Huckle, L Johanson and Brooks (SWR). Sixth M Hoy, R Cutmore and Farmer (Park Beach).
Club triples nominations are on the board and will close on Saturday.
Urunga Women
Pat Chapman reports – congratulations to Kath McPhail, Sylvia Mitchell and Colleen Katen who returned from the Sapphire Triples last week flaunting exquisite sapphire rings, the result of their third placing in the Cex carnival.
Gala day is set down for Tuesday October 3 so be sure to get your names in. Cost for the day is $22 which includes bowls and lunch. It is not too soon to bring in Items for the trading table and they can be left in the women's office.
Entries close on September 23 for the Club Urunga Mixed Fours Summer Carnival on Saturday 7 and Sunday October 8. Teams will consist of two ladies and two men. If you have not organised a team you can place your name on the sheet on the men's noticeboard and a team will be arranged for you.

Urunga Men
David Boatfield reports – it’s that time of the year when we’re thinking of the future of the club. The annual meeting of the Men’s Club has been moved back to the first Sunday, November 5. There are plenty of positions to fill. The more on the committee the better it works.
This week’s results: Wednesday Bruce Parsons (welcome back, Bruce), B Gunmonson and Bob Bowden. Friday AM: Athol Grogan and John Davis. PM Eric Wood, Bill Ludbey and Bob Austin. Runners-up Jock Fisher, Ray Galagher and Steve Ttooulou. Sunday: B Carter and Garry Carter.
Noticeboard: Don’t forget Sunday morning bowls, we’re still having a good turn up. Join in the fun. The draw for the Club Mixed Fours is on the board and the first round is this Saturday.

Mid North Coast Veterans
Colin Cutt reports – on Monday, September 4, 61 golfers competed at Bonville Golf Club. A grade winner – David Jones with 40 pts, 1st runner-up Dennis Moore with 37 pts, 2nd runner-up Richard Dube with 36 pts c/b. B grade winner – Michelle Palmer with 35 pts, 1st runner-up Desmond Hoy with 34 pts, 2nd runner‑up Karen Cross with 33 pts.
On Tuesday, September 5, 43 golfers competed at Macksville Golf Club. Winner - Bob Irvine with 40 pts. Runners-up - Mike Parker, Tom Lindsay, Max Turner, all on 38 pts.
Nambucca Heads Women
Jen Forne reports – Nambucca had a small but elite group of 18 starters last Wednesday competing in the Forever Fabulous Stableford with handicaps tumbling. Narelle Delaney won with a fantastic 38 points, Lillian Lukins was runner up with 37 points. Other good scores were Faye Hopkins 35, Betty Stockham and Kay McGoldrick 34. Monthly Medal is next on our calendar.
