As the stand-in coach taking them through their last three weeks of training and sharing the journey of their first ever State Age, it was an absolute privilege and I thank the players and their families for the opportunity.
The girls played 16 games over the three days and were competitive right to the last whistle on day three. They fought hard and never gave up even when a win was not achievable.
Most importantly, these Under 12s always held their heads up high, showing the world how proud they were to be representing the Nambucca Valley.
Our shooters, Jade Summerville, Izzabelle Salway and Lacey Wilson worked hard to get good shooting position and showed some moments of absolute brilliance. The centre court, Marli Bateman, Lilly Noonan, Lily Woodward and Caitlin Mann ran themselves ragged to stifle their opposition as well as move the ball down court to the shooters.
The defence players, Josie Welsh, Aaliyah Hodnett-Daly and Shaina Cohen, showed grit and determination as they chased their opponents.
