The Strikers got the result 3-1, but the hosts showed the grit and talent that had earned them a finals berth.
At arguably the most picturesque ground on the Mid North Coast, the visitors started the better, and had much of the early running, before finding the string for their first, and that was the score at the break.
The Bombers challenged every ball, but some of the younger Strikers had the gift of speed, so even when beaten, regrouped to retrieve possession and control.
Nambucca added a second after the break, but moments later lost focus at the back and Boambee made them pay with a soft goal.
It was game on again and much of the second half teetered on the edge as the Bombers lifted tempo and looked to counter-attack on every opportunity.
The Strikers kept their cool and added a third in a spirited match which saw more yellow than a pasture of sunflowers and frequent pitch invasion by a little white dog.
