Days of rain and a forecast for heavy rain on the day scared a number of golfers away. The brave ones who competed were greeted with a very wet course but no further rain made for an enjoyable day.
Chris Murphy got out early to set a score down (36 points) which proved to be the winning mark with little to no run making scoring difficult.
Geoff O'Grady collect the runners-up prize (35 points in a countback) after a one over on the back nine … it had to be after the front nine was something of a shambles.
Curtis Ellis continued his recent good form to take out the front nine with Jake Clarke taking out the back nine. Jake had 21 points with a wipe, so a great back nine.
Nearest the pins went to: A Grade - Beau Lavender, B Grade - Greg Zirkler and Curtis Ellis collected the C Grade prize.
Balls went back to Tony Henshaw on 33 points in a countback.
Chook for Curtis
Thursday's chook run was won by Curtis Ellis with Jim Wilkes taking the nearest the pin.
This Saturday's event will be a Twoball Best Ball Stableford sponsored by the Nambucca Hotel.
