Vanessa Sanger, Lach and Geoff McKay, Dianne Coombes and Graham Howle kept the music coming from 4pm until 9pm – all volunteering their time and talent to raise money for the family of Macksville’s Steve Wood.
Buckets were filled with donations during the night and along with sales from a joint Salvo’s and Rotary manned BBQ plus some subsequent donations, the total came to almost $4,000.
The money will go directly to Steve’s family to assist with the many additional expenses of his recovery and rehabilitation in Sydney while keeping their home, farm and business in Macksville all going.
The venue on the riverbank at Macksville looked stunning with the improvements of the past couple of years now almost complete.
These include the stage, a new pontoon jetty, kayak launching area, bank stabilising rocks and new turf and are a combined effort of the Rotary Club of Macksville and the Nambucca Shire Council.
The night was a wonderful opportunity for the community to enjoy great music and help one of our own.
