The North Coast Football men’s second division clash was always going to be lopsided when the Tigers had just nine players to call upon, and lost one to injury late in the first half.
Take nothing away from the Strikers. They were pretty and physical. One and two-touch passing, speed, and competed with bustle at every contest.
Too much class. Too much size. The undermanned Tigers – three-quarters of their side were young boys, and they competed hard.
It was a credit of the Strikers that some players during the game were offering advice to the young Tigers.
The Tigers never stopped trying. These cubs will be a force for that in time to come. And, it shows the class of the men who wear the Strikers’ strip.
