Federal Member for Cowper Luke Hartsuyker and State Member for Oxley Melinda Pavey today announced that Nambucca District Rescue Association and Trial Bay Volunteer Marine Rescue would receive grants to help recruit and retain volunteers, and the Deervale Rural Fire Service would get funds for new equipment.
Mr Hartsuyker said Nambucca District Rescue Association would receive $25,000 to assist with recruiting volunteers.
“The funding will support the development of a website and other multimedia strategies aimed at the recruitment of new volunteers to the organisation,” Mr Hartsuyker said.
“We need emergency management organisations like the Nambucca District Rescue Association to be strong and sustainable, with enough well-trained and dedicated volunteers to continue protecting and serving the Nambucca Valley in times of emergency.”
