In the men’s, Roscoe took out the winning whiting with a catch of 262 grams, while Mick Shepperd came in second with a 208g fish.
And it was Roscoe’s day as far as the big kids went with him taking out the mystery fish as well with his flathead.
Meanwhile, in the ladies’ section, Cassie Sheppard brought in her whiting of 202g and took home first prize, and Debbie Sheppard weighed in a nice bream for points.
In the juniors, Jack Burley was once again up there with his 132g whiting. Jack also weighed in a nice 5kg tuna – well earned points, Jack!
In the minnows, it was brothers Jairah, 8 years, and Ashton, 4, who took out first spot. The Sheppard brothers brought in a pidgeon pair or whiting – both weighing 186g. Then there was Stevie Burley and Noah Sheppard who both weighed in some nice spotted mackerel – another pidgeon pair at 4kg each – good one guys. All kids took home some great prizes and enjoyed the sausage sizzle.
The bass section was won by Mick Sheppard, submitting five fish up to 42cm – an easy win with no competition from Dave Whalen and Dean Holmes this month – both only managing to find a few undersize specimens. Next month, fellas.
The members’ draw didn’t go off once more – hard luck, Terry Liddell – so now jackpots to $80 and the mystery fish is back to $20 for the next comp. This will be held on April 28-30 with target species being tailor and bream.
Weigh-in is at 2-2.30pm with free sausage sizzle straight after. Bring the kids and have some fun by the water.
