A 42 year old Wallsend man was killed and two others injured when a car collided with a tree at Telegraph Point on Saturday night.

Police say the Wallsend man was travelling in the rear seat of the vehicle. He received fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Emergency services were called to the accident at about 9pm on Hacks Ferry Road, following reports a Toyota Hilux utility had hit a tree.
The 36 year old male driver was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital by Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service suffering rib and abdominal injuries.
A spokesperson for the hospital said the man was listed in a stable condition on Sunday morning.
The third passenger, a 28 year old man from Telegraph Point was conveyed to Port Macquarie Base Hospital with minor injuries.
A spokesperson for the base hospital said the man was likely to be discharged on Sunday.
Officers from the Mid North Coast Local Area Command and the Crash Investigation Unit attended the scene.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
