The Member for Oxley Melinda Pavey said planning for the project was soldiering on, with the Mid North Coast Local Health District’s (MNCLHD) clinical services plan also now complete.
“The clinical services plan provides a roadmap for the district’s health services and is an important part of planning the scope of the Macksville Hospital redevelopment,” Ms Pavey said.
“The project will include upgrading parts of the existing hospital in line with the clinical services plan, with priorities including enhancing the emergency department, perioperative services, day procedure centre, inpatient services, community health and ambulatory care, and aboriginal health services.”
She said Macksville Hospital’s redevelopment would ensure staff can continue delivering contemporary and sophisticated models of care in a facility to match.
“This is a project which will bring our hospital and health care into the 21st century.”
The NSW Government has committed $50 million towards the project, which will enhance patient care and improve ambulatory care and outpatient treatments.
