Nambucca has been announced winner of the 2016 NSW water taste test for the best tasting tap water at the NSW Water Operations Conference in Newcastle.
Mayor Rhonda Hoban said the acknowledgement came hot on the heels of the Engineering Excellence Award for the Bowraville Off River Water Storage facility.
“The shire can also now boast that we have the best tasting tap water in NSW,” Cr Hoban said.
The award for the best tasting water in NSW is judged against all water authorities and presented at the annual Water Industry Operators’ Association NSW Water Operations Conference.
“It’s no longer a myth - we do have the best drinking water,” Cr Hoban said.
“We are fortunate to have a good quality water source for our residents and this award is for all the staff who are involved with the work behind the scenes delivering the water and sewerage services to our residents.”
