AN INVESTIGATION is underway after a motorcyclist died following a two-vehicle crash west of Macksville on Friday.

About 12pm, a 59-year-old man was riding a motorcycle south along William Hill Rd, Yarranbella. A 37-year-old man was driving a Toyota Landcruiser in a northerly direction on the same road, when the two vehicles collided.
Emergency services were called and the rider was flown to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver, and sole occupant of the Toyota, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene was established and officers attached to Mid North Coast Local Area Command commenced investigations.
About 9.15am on Sunday, the motorcyclist died in hospital.
As inquiries continue, police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with information, to come forward.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
