278 Barnetts Road in Gumma has broken all previous sale records and is the only listing in the suburb to reach prices over $1 million in the last eighteen years.
Previous listings have described it as a millionaire’s playground and the property boasts a hundred acres situated right on the river.
The sale was brokered by local Real Estate Agent Lyndal Butler of Nambucca Valley Property, who as you could imagine, was very happy to have sold such a highly priced property.
“It's very exciting to see unique local properties achieve prices over $2 million,” Ms Butler said.
“It's nice to finally see people outside of the area notice the value of the property we have here.”
This huge property sale smashed the previous record by over $1 million.
The only two others that come close to this extravagant high are 178 Gumma Road, which sold for $975,000 in October last year, and 119 Boultons Crossing Road, which sold for $910,000 in March the same year.
“It's nice to see local property get what its worth,” Ms Butler added. “This is a beautiful area.”
The five bedroom house itself has frame-less glass walls and windows that afford views over Warrell Creek. It also allows owners the unique choice of arriving to the riverfront house by boat or car.
Despite the headlines around the country forewarning of a property crash in cities like Sydney and Melbourne, Ms Butler wasn't worried about the local property market.
“We often see a little price correction, the 2003-2004 house prices were huge, then the prices came back down a little, they’ll go back up again.”
