“We believe there’s the possibility that human remains have been found,” Acting Inspector Chris Hardwick said.

Police are currently at the scene at Riverside Dve, Nambucca Heads, and are waiting for an investigation team to arrive to determine what has been found.

Workers have downed tools and are watching on in disbelief but are unable to comment further.

The property was sold on July 24, and excavation works have been going on for the past week to remove the house on the site.
