The crash occurred at around 5.20, 2km north of Nambucca Heads near the construction of the new highway.
The southbound B-double was damaged in the accident and a quantity of fuel was spilt at the scene.
No one was injured.
Nambucca Heads Fire and Rescue attended the scene along with the crew from Valla RFS, an RMS road crew and two police officers.
“The truck appears to have struck both the concrete and steel guard rails which has ruptured the fuel tank and damaged the sump,” Nambucca Heads Fire and Rescue captain Rob Couchman said.
“There was a significant quantity of diesel spilt – it stretched for about 100m.”
The crews worked to contain the diesel which was starting to seep into the nearby drain by using absorbent pillows.
