The fast moving fire had earlier been listed at Watch and Act, with flames “virtually at the doorsteps”, according to authorities.
Some 50 NSW RFS firefighters have been on scene.
Another bushfire nearby, on Missabotti Rd, is listed as being controlled and is also on advice level.
Yesterday was considered the more dangerous day with the fire rating being ‘severe’ – however while today has been much cooler, strong wind and a very dry landscape mean the Nambucca Valley is vulnerable to fire.
This weekend local brigades will host Get Ready events to equip residents with the best information available to protect themselves during the bushfire season.
