The current temporary Rosewood Rd side-track, that has been used by traffic since mid-December 2015, will now be closed. This allows for the completion of the highway in this area. All traffic will now use the new bridge across the highway.
This change will remove the point of interaction between site vehicles and the travelling public, making it safer for all.
Rosewood Rd bridge is the fourth of 15 bridges to be opened to traffic since building work began on the Warrell Creek to Nambucca Heads project in late 2014. The remaining 11 bridges are well advanced in construction and will be progressively opened to traffic in the coming months.
The bridge is 64.2 metres in length and eight metres wide. It has two spans and four u-girders that are 1.6 metres high and provides 5.3 metres clearance for vehicles on the new highway.
The new Rosewood Bridge road will provide access to local traffic and access to Mt Yarrahapinni.
