The game opened with the first few ends going to John, who led 9/0. Brendon gained his composure and started to win some ends but was unable to keep up the momentum and get the multiple scores which were required.
Eventually John won his third consecutive major singles title in as many years, taking out the final 31/12.
Congratulations to John and a job well done to Brendon to make the final.
On Monday the Nambucca River Over 50/60s was held at Macksville, and as usual there was great competition between the bowlers which made for an enjoyable day of bowls.
The winning bowlers were lead Ross Patmore, second Ron Gleeson and skip Gary Bishop. Runners-up were lead Kerry McBride, second Bernie Unterrheiner and skip Ian Poletti.
This week the club has jackpot bowls on Thursday, and on Saturday the Vietnam Veterans Remembrance Day bowls afternoon.
