Angela Saunders provided a number of photos of her grandparents at the show over the years.
“My Aunty Wilga still participates with craft work in the show every year even though she is now in her 80s,” she added.
And Garry Miles has shared a priceless old home movie filmed at the show some time in the early 1960s.
Watch the old home movie here:
“The home movies were taken by an Uncle who is now 86. Possibly the show would still have been a three-day show when these were taken.
“Like many others in my age bracket (he is 66) I have memories of getting dressed up to go to the show in our best clothes.”
Garry remembers one of the most popular spots at the show being in the pavilion watching old black and white movies on a little screen.
“The movies used to be incorporated into the Nestles display, which was in itself another highlight in the pavilion.”
Earlier this year when safety concerns and heavy rain posed an issue the decision was made to postpone the iconic event.
This year’s show will run over September 16-17 and Kempsey Show Society’s Chris Anderson says it will have an “emphasis on youth”.
