DonateLife has launched a new and simpler online registration in time for DonateLife Week 2017.
Nationals Member for Cowper Luke Hartsuyker is excited about the potential this could have on the rate of organ donor registration throughout Australia.
“Gone are the days when we needed to rely on a paper form being sent to you in the mail, before filling it out and having to post it back – it could take weeks from start to registration,” Mr Hartsuyker said.
“That option is definitely still available for those who need it but it’s so much quicker to hop on the DonateLife website. A couple minutes are all it takes to complete, and then you know you’re a registered organ donor.”
Only 1 in 3 Australians are registered organ donors but this simpler registration process is being billed to improve those odds.
The Member for Cowper is organising a motorcycle ride from Coffs Harbour to Port Macquarie to raise awareness of organ donor registration and is hoping to use the ride to show locals how simple the new registration process is.
“You can do it now if you have a smart phone,” My Hartsuyker said.
“Come play a part in saving the lives of thousands of Australians. It’ll be a great day on the road!”
