Each year, the Pharmacy Guild searches Australia-wide to find the most skilled and knowledgeable pharmacy assistants to share their experiences and passion for the industry.
This prestigious award recognises the important contribution pharmacy assistants make to the pharmacy industry and is a chance to celebrate the significant role of pharmacy assistants.
“I love my job as a pharmacy assistant and feel honoured to be a state finalist in this competition,” Catie said.
“It’s wonderful to be recognised for my dedication to the job and my commitment to looking after the needs of our customers.”
The top 20 finalists in each state are invited to participate in a training workshop day in their State. This includes a number of personal and professional development activities.
Catie will be heading to Sydney midway through August with 20 other state finalists from NSW for this special training day.
From there, a state winner will be chosen to represent their state or territory at the national finals held at the pharmacy assistant national conference on the Gold Coast in October.
Owner and pharmacist at Valla Pharmacy Jessica Campbell is overjoyed at Catie’s selection.
“It was a competitive field this year with 633 nominations Australia wide, the highest number ever recorded,” Jessica said.
“Catie has all of the qualities that make for a wonderful pharmacy assistant: she is knowledgeable, devoted, compassionate and an inspiration to all around her.”
“We congratulate Catie on her success so far and wish her good luck at the next stage of the competition.”
