THREE riders from the Nambucca River District Pony Club travelled to Tamworth last week to compete in the State Showjumping Championships and the State Showjumping Equitation Championships and all met with success.

Horses and riders and parents braved extremely cold weather during their six-day stay at the Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre where the championships were held.
As with all State events, ribbons went down to 10th place. Results for local riders were as follows:
Associates 17 and under 25 years: Tayla Chapman (23), riding Mr Fibs, competed in both championships. Showjumping: C Grade (7 competitors): Tayla placed 2nd AM5, 1st Grand Prix, 3rd A2 and 3rd Accumulator. Equitation 95cm height (30 competitors): she placed 16th Class 1 and 10th Class 4.
13 and under 15 years: Mallee Goldrick (14), riding Blue Jean Baby, competed in both championships. Showjumping: B Grade, Mallee placed 5th AM5, 8th Grand Prix, and 9th A2. Equitation 85cm: Mallee placed 6th Class 3 and 4th Class 4.
11 and under 13 years: Lilly McCormack (11), riding Hailey’s Comet, competed in the showjumping only. C Grade (27 competitors): she placed 17th AM5, 13th Grand Prix, 5th A2 and 15th Accumulator.
