Now’s the chance for Nambucca residents to put forward the name of a local officer worthy of recognition.
The Rotary Club of Port Macquarie West is sponsoring the Mid North Coast Local Area Command Police Officer of the Year awards 2017.
Local Area Commander, Superintendent Paul Fehon APM, said “we are pleased to recognise the good work of our police and I encourage members of the community to nominate officers who have shown outstanding acts of courtesy, understanding, compassion, courage and devotion to duty and the community for the preceding 12 months.”
There will be two separate sections for these awards.
Community Awards (open to the public to nominate any police officer within the LAC).
Peer Awards (police officers may nominate fellow officers within the LAC).
The successful nominees in the Mid North Coast Local Area Command (LAC) will be presented with their prize at the annual awards day on Wednesday June 28. They will also qualify for the NSW State Awards to be held in Sydney in November.
Nominations are now open and close on Friday, June 23. For copies of the nomination form or inquiries about the awards email mncpooty@police.nsw.gov.au.
The Mid North Coast Local Area Command includes the police stations at Port Macquarie, Wauchope, Laurieton, Comboyne, Kempsey, South West Rocks, Gladstone, Crescent Head, Bellbrook, Nambucca Heads, Macksville and Bowraville.
