Rob credits his world travels and time at both the ABC and BBC prior to his escape to the beautiful Nambucca Valley, as providing him with experiences that have enhanced his endeavours in community-based projects.
Rob was one of the originals on the steering committee that established Nambucca Valley's Community Radio Station, 2NVR.
He was also a driving force behind the rejuvenation of the Bowraville Theatre, from the original concept to the extensive refurbishment, allowing Bowraville to reclaim this historic landmark.
The book, Uncle Harry's Finger, is an adventurous journey back to the innocence, freedom and strength of a hard working Australian community in the 1940s.
It is a humourous reflection of a time when children could freely roam and play without the fears grip society today.
And be warned, Rob and his extended family will be wearing their family tartans on June 11, so watch for bandy legs and nobbly knees.
The launch is at 3pm, wine and nibbles on hand.
