Brian Brabant and Geoff Christian found the pleasant conditions to their liking with 50 points. Runners-up were Paul Donges and Steve Ellis, but they were beaten by countbacks for the front nine (Curtis Ellis and Shane Langley) and back nine (Ray Bowering and Murray Dryburgh), so finished empty handed.
Nearest the pins on the 4th/13th were won by Steve Ellis in A Grade, Clive Friedman in B Grade, and Roy Rudner in C Grade. Steve was lucky to retain the NTP during the day as his tee shot finished on the edge of the green. He was surprised as anyone that it ended up being the best for A graders. Extra NTPs were won by the ever-steady Max Graham, Tony Book and the Mountain Man from the Whip, Jimmy McArthur.
This Saturday’s event will be a Twoball Worst Ball sponsored by Jeff Gore.
Only six players fronted up for the friendly single stableford last Thursday with play interrupted by light intermittent showers. Winner was Jeff Gore with 41 points. Jeff's score could have been much higher, finishing the front nine with 23 points.
