It occurred when Member for Cowper Luke Hartsuyker, attending Indonesia-Australia Business Week, had a meeting on Thursday with Edhy Prabowo, a senior politician with responsibility for agricultural policy in Jakarta.
It turns out that Mr Hartsuyker’s interpreter for that meeting was Murray O’Hanlon, who grew up in the Macleay Valley, went to Kempsey High School, and is now first secretary (development cooperation) at the Australian Embassy in Jakarta. Mr O’Hanlon has been in Indonesia for two years working for Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
