Some good tight bowling and regular wickets kept the score to 146 all out. Lee Pedrola was again in the runs with 70 while Ryan Gleeson made 34. Best bowler for Star Hotel were Joe Costa with a inspiring spell of 4/11 off 8 overs. Joe tore through the top order with some accurate swing bowling, Peter Lee chipped in with 3/29.
Star Hotel started steady and the openers, Joe Costa, 34, and Ethan Davidson, 32, put on 66 for the first wicket. Tight bowling and strong fielding from the Scotts Head players pushed this game right down to the wire with 13 required off the last over. But Star Hotel could only manage five runs and fell seven runs short of the ask. Best bowlers for Scotts Head were Jasper Young 3/20 and BJ Martin 2/38.
This two teams always put on a close game played in good spirits.
Noel Chapman reports – Bowra won the toss and batted, making 4 for 173 in 32 overs. Ron Gleeson top scored with 78. The other opener, John, scored 44 before retiring with a leg injury. Best bowling Hayden Brown 2 for 29.
Country Club replied with 7 for 114 in the 32 overs. Top scorer Chris Budden with 25 supported by Matt Leibrant 24 not out and Ossie Kinnear who retired shortly after being hit in the head by a short ball for 19. Best bowling Gary Smith with 3 for 21.
Nambucca Hotel v Taylor’s Arm: Nambucca won the toss and batted first scoring 8/177 off the 40 overs. Dane Luffman 41 and Lawson Tinmouth 38 the top scorers. Taylor’s Arm were bowled out for 60. Dane Luffman 3/2, Curtis Ellis 3/16 and Dave Stuart 3/18 the pick of the bowlers.

Meanwhile, the Nambucca Valley Cricket Association over 40s and first grade will play their respective finals matches on February 26.
