Motorists looking to travel the Pacific Highway are being diverted through Wauchope along Pembrooke and Stoney Creek roads to Telegraph Point.
It is expected that this diversion will remain in place for several hours while the crash sites are cleared. The Roads and Maritime Services is advising motorists to allow extra time for travel.
Both crashes are within a kilometre of each other, the first at around 5am when a b-double rolled over blocking both lanes of the Pacific Highway.
It is believed the accident is at the same site where cattle truck tipped over recently.
Police, paramedics, rural fire service, SES and RMS personnel attended the scene. It is understood the driver was trapped in the cab for some time.
While the truck’s load is not considered dangerous, emergency services were involved in cleaning up a diesel spill.
The second accident occurred immediately north of the Dennis bridge. There are no details on the extent of that crash.
While light traffic is being diverted, heavy movers remain on the highway.
