Because it is just so unpredictable.
The night before you go out fishing, the weather could predict light winds coming up at 10am. But you get to the beach ready for a day on the water, only to have white caps forming at lot earlier at 6am.
River fishing is taking over with most anglers getting whiting fever.
There are plenty of anglers fishing with worms and yabbies, but quite a lot are choosing to chase them on lures like the never fail Bassday Sugapen.
Mangrove jacks are in full swing right now.
Dead baits are the good ticket fished into the evenings, but a few mates of mine have been getting jacks on slow-rolled (a slow steady winding action) soft plastics and on light gear have been a big hand full.
Some really nice gutters are forming on some of the beaches around the place and I would have to say these would be a prime feeding zone for big jewfish.
