THURSDAY’S stableford round of golf at The Island course came up with a few surprises in the both divisions. Division one winner was Uri Ylinen (15 handicap) with a score of 42 points from Kenny Marriott (15) on 36 points.

Showing good form over two weeks now Harry Parnell (30) had a round of 39 points to take out the division 2 voucher. Ronny Lapin (31) was runner-up with 35 points.
Saturday was the third round of the men’s championships with a good field taking part. Coming out on top for the A grade round was Graham Weary (12) with a round of 66 nett. To cap off his day Graham also took home the money shot. Runner up was Steven Cumming (10) after a round of 67.
After a run of outs, John Hopkins (17) got it together once again with a round of 68 nett to take out B grade. Trevor Peter (14) kept his hopes alive in B grade after a round of 69 nett.
In C grade, Barrie Nicholson (20) came in soaking wet after a downpour with a score of 65 nett to take the spoils from Michael Harmer (36) who carded a round of 68 to take the countback from Kerry McCoy (22).
Best round off the stick was Nathan Smith to keep him in front of the field in A grade on 225, with John Failes next on 228, Bruce Berry 230 and Drew Glasson 241.
In B grade, Taylor Hamilton-Giggins heads the list with 256, from Jason Belt 261, Trevor Peter 262 and Dirk Prummell 265.
In C grade, Richard Trevena on 278 leads from Col Dunne 283, Don Adams 283, and Barrie Nicholson 284. All the above to play in the seeded groups this Saturday along with the leaders of the nett and they are as follows.
A grade Steven Cumming 210, Graham Weary 212, Eddy Penrose 215, Phil Mander 215. The B grade group will comprise of John Slade 222, Michael Nugent 225, Kevin Mulhall 225, and Andrew Bagust 226. In C grade Noel Gaddes 209, Roy Louis 213, Mark Cooney 219 and Garry Tierney 220 will play off.
