The show is built around the idea of a 50-year reunion of a school choir using songs to tell the story of what had happened through their lives.
One of the themes is how singing together bonds and lifts people.
In a first for the Bowraville Theatre Singers, there are two songs by Bob Dylan in the repertoire.
In what could be seen as a good omen for the concert it was recently announced in Stockholm that Bob Dylan had been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.
Gary Rumble, whose ideas have inspired the show, said that some members of the choir were not sure about including Dylan songs but it seemed we were on the right track all along.
“It is unlikely that Mr Dylan will be able to make it to our concert but I am sure he will be with us in spirit," Gary said.
"The Song in Our Heart" will be performed at the Bowraville Theatre on Saturday, November 5 and Sunday, November 6 at 2 pm.
Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased at the door or via Tickethost.com.au.
