From dunking a bait at the local wharf, to travelling far and wide in search of tournament success. It’s a real day to get out with mates or family and do what we love – fishing.
What a great time of year for a day like this too: warming water, active, hungry fish and beautiful conditions to be outside.
With so much technology in front of kids today it’s often hard to get them out of the house away from the PlayStation or Xbox. I get it I love video games as much as the next 10-year-old.
But I do know the difference in satisfaction after a day on the video games and a day out in the bush bass fishing.
You can have fun on video games, but it’s fake fun. It’s temporary.
Getting out with mates and experiencing the joys, frustrations and everything else that goes into a fishing trip are memories that will last forever.
Special bonds will form that won’t be broken and cannot be replicated in front of a screen in your living room.
That’s what ‘Go Fishing Day’ is all about. Forging long lasting memories, friendships and an addiction to fishing that will never die.
