Member for Oxley Melinda Pavey said there was huge opportunity for jobs growth, development and subsequent business investment as a result of the Pacific Highway upgrades in the region and Nambucca’s unique location midway between Sydney and Brisbane.
“This is excellent news for the Nambucca community as it will allow the Valla Industrial Estate project to progress to the next stage where it will ultimately attract investment and jobs to the area,” Ms Pavey said.
The funding will go towards creating an economic development prospectus to support the Valla Industrial Estate which is conveniently located with Pacific Highway frontage for improved freight and logistics options.
“The NSW Government has received strong representation from Mayor Rhonda Hoban on behalf of Nambucca Shire Council and I am pleased that we can share the vision and contribute to the development of this valuable asset,” she said.
Minister for Regional Development John Barilaro said the NSW Government was committed to providing support for infrastructure that promotes jobs and new opportunities for stronger economic growth in regional areas.
“Initiatives such as the development of the Valla Industrial Estate will help drive employment in the region and encourage more young people and families to remain in the area,” Mr Barilaro said.
