Born in Sale, Victoria, Ruth has been drawing and painting most of her life. She began taking painting lessons with Graham Walpole in 1974 and later studied with renowned artist Barry Alford.
Ruth has travelled extensively. She lived in Malaysia for two years painting and studying, then four years in Houston, Texas, followed by England and Canada before returning home to Australia in late 1996.
Much of Ruth's work sells through private commissions and her work hangs in many private collections throughout Australia, the United States, England and Malaysia.
She has taken out several prizes and highly commended awards in a number of art prizes.
A morning tea to launch Ruth’s exhibition will be held in the NVAC’s Stringer Gallery on Wednesday, August 2 from 10.30. Everyone welcome.
