“Last time I stayed on because we had made the commitment to build the dam … this time around there are a whole new range of challenges that need to be addressed,” Cr Hoban said.
“Having been mayor for two terms now (three as a councillor), I know what those challenges are about and their impacts on the community.
“That aside, it is true to say that it is difficult to step back.
“My kids have all left school now and my passion and enthusiasm for the community is still there, so I am in a good position to keep going.”
