“This is an important milestone," Member for Oxley Melinda Pavey said.
“This follows extensive meetings with the clinical staff and other internal and external stakeholders.”
The finalisation of the clinical services plan opens the way for further community consultation and information sessions in the lead up to construction.
“I will be leading the community consultation process to ensure the residents of the Nambucca Valley are fully engaged and informed,” Mrs Pavey said.
“We need to get these processes right, so when construction starts, the needs of the community are built into the design of the newly redeveloped hospital.
“We must also ensure that the wide-ranging requirements and capabilities of the local health district as a group are also included, as well as providing the world’s best practice community health and outreach services.
“The Mid North Coast Local Health District continues to be transformed through the commitment of the Liberal/Nationals Government with more than $350 million being spent and committed to create world class health facilities right across NSW.”
Visiting the hospital in September last year at the commencement of the plan, NSW Minister for Health Jillian Skinner assured staff and the community that construction will start in time for the hospital to be completed in 2019.
