The event attracted teams from Coffs, Woolgoolga, Minnie Waters, Sawtell, Urunga and Nambucca.
The Nambucca team included under 8s to under 14s competing in junior events, two senior girls in under 15s and one senior girl in under 17s.
“We were so proud of our team on the day as their enthusiasm and good sportsmanship was remarkable,” Nippers age manager Melinda Davies said.
“It was the first carnival for many of our Nippers so it was a huge learning curve.
“The conditions on the day were extremely tough with sweltering weather and pretty rough seas for mostly first timers in board and ocean swim event races.”
Overall, the Nambucca club took home a swag of ribbons including under 14 Charlie Dent receiving first in flags and beach sprint and second in the very competitive ironwoman race.
“The Nippers all looked great on the day and stood out wearing their new team shirts thanks to generous local sponsorship from HLV Chartered Accounting and Key2Coast Real Estate,” Melinda said.
“We had incredible parent support which made this day possible and look forward to attending more surf carnivals next season.”
The Nambucca Surf Life Saving Club is currently flourishing with a huge influx of new members enrolling this season and large numbers regularly attending Sunday morning training.
Nippers returns Sunday, February 14.
