Tourists have invaded the Valley and while many are casual anglers, a few are really giving the fish a good hiding!
Whiting and flathead have been the main victims, with the crab population also getting attention.
Soft plastics and surface lures are the weapons of choice - as always the Sugapen and the Atomic Prong are high scorers.
A few new kids on the block are creating a stir, lures like the new Squidgy Prawn range, the Squidgy Whipbait and the Gomoku popper. These lures may not have the huge following among anglers, but the fish sure do like them and that’s really what matters.

We purchased these to give the average Nambucca fisho a chance at using a highly regarded piece of gear not easily available to the masses.
These things are designed for trolling dead baits in search of most of our renowned game species - mackerel, marlin, kingfish, cobia and tuna. The list is endless!
After the little bit of rain we had around Christmas the bass waters have improved.
After regaining some flow, food and fish have been able to move around freely rather than be constrained to one hole all the time.
The surface fishing on the bass this year has been fantastic.
