Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Warren Truss said an inspection of the highway at Valla was carried out this week.
“Following this inspection and meetings with community representatives, a strategy to improve safety has been developed,” Mr Truss said.
New South Wales Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight Duncan Gay said a range of measures will be soon be implemented.
“The NSW Government is working with council, police and other stakeholders to get additional safety measures in place as soon as possible, and we will keep the community informed of these traffic changes in coming weeks,” Mr Gay said.
Federal Member for Cowper Luke Hartsuyker said road users will see a number of changes.
“Electronic signs will be updated with messaging which provides a greater focus on driver safety and will ask drivers to slow down and drive to the road conditions,” Mr Hartsuyker said.
“The Valla Beach directional signage will also be relocated to improve driver visibility.”
Member for Oxley Melinda Pavey said speed limits will also be reduced and enforced.
“We are also upgrading traffic signs and undertaking further line marking to ensure all traffic conditions are clearly communicated to drivers.”
Ms Pavey said her thoughts were with the community at this time and this black spot will be closely monitored until the upgraded road opens.
