It was a captain’s versus president’s teams’ competition, with the captain’s crew scoring a narrow victory.
The playing conditions were excellent and the weather, beautiful.
Judy Boyle (20 handicap) won the day’s event with 37 points. Judy was a long way ahead of runner-up in Division 1, Kerrie Jackson (21), on 30 points.
Glennis Russell (27) won Division 2 with 33 points, on a countback from Sue O’Donnell (26).
Morann Paterson (34) with 36 points won Division 3, from Betty Stockham (36) on 32 points.
Nearest the pins were won by Judy Boyle who was in top form, taking out the 5th, as well as the 13th. Faye Hopkins and Leanne Welsh also had their eye in to win their division’s nearest the pins.
With the end of the year looming, special activities are planned.
The ladies’ members AGM will be held on October 21. This will take place after the day’s 18-hole event. October is also the club’s breast cancer fundraising month. Last year saw $1520 donated.
The ladies’ committee will also hold a Melbourne Cup lunch at the golf club, with sweeps and a $20 meal available.
