Isabella Shepherd, Declan Sutton and Cara Rudder represented in the Target Squad, travelled to Mingarra where they competed in a two-day NSW State B and C meet.
Competition was fierce for the Marlins who have struggled with injuries leading up to and throughout the meet as well as having limited training over the winter months compared to their metropolitan rivals.
Isabella achieved an outstanding third place in the 100m backstroke while Declan dominated the fly leg of the 13/U 200m Medley relay resulting in first place for Swimming North Coast (SNC).
Cara swam consistently in her events as well as supporting the SNC team in six relays.
Meanwhile, fellow Marlins Kyran Tsujimoto, Darcy Welsh, Kate Payne, Brin Trisley, Kellie Tsujimoto and Caitlyn and Zoe Rudder travelled to Sydney as a part of the 78-strong SNC Achievers team.
The swimmers were treated to a sightseeing tour of Sydney with a visit to the Powerhouse Museum and Opera House with transport involving train and ferry travel.
After a well deserved night’s rest, the team competed at Sydney Olympic Aquatic Centre in the Swimming NSW D Squad meet.
The majority of the Marlin swimmers achieved personal best times which is a fantastic indicator of a great upcoming season when full training resumes in the outdoor 50m pool.
Kyran snatched a silver medal for his swim in the 13/O freestyle relay as well as achieving a Top 10 placing in the backstroke.
Kellie was pleased with her three Top 10 finishes - in fly, back and breast - while Darcy was unlucky to just miss a bronze medal in the 50m breast.
Travelling with the SNC teams were three dedicated Marlin members and supporters - Gretchen Tsujimoto (head coach and manager), Dallis Welsh (team manager) of the Achiever Squad as well as Lyndel Sutton, head manager for the Target touring team.
