Freya Paton is primarily a fabric artist and her wall hangings, as well as free standing pieces, are influenced by colour, texture and spirituality. She also paints in acrylic and creates collages using Japanese paper.
Peta Coe works in acrylics on canvas, creating strongly coloured and textured re-interpreted still life, landscapes and imaginary worlds. Her work is often joyful and playful, at times more serious, making comment on social issues or influenced by ancient cultures.
Lorraine Francis paints in acrylic on canvas. Her work is of a surreal or contemporary style. It has an element of spontaneity, evolving as she paints.
Denise Delaney is drawn to patterns, often geometric, sometimes based on plant/natural forms as well as symbols with layered meanings. She paints in a variety of mediums. Denise also works in clay, hand-building pots by means of coils or hand pinching. She then adds patterns and introduces colours with glazing. Her pottery creations can be either functional or purely decorative.
Celia Ramsay works in watercolour, which she loves for its transparent quality, but sometimes throws in some acrylic inks for dramatic effect. Celia is influenced by nature and is drawn to flowers and birds as well as landscapes.
* The exhibition will run from Thursday September 3 to Sunday September 6, and September 10-13. Artist Sara Wade will open the exhibition on Saturday September 5 at 2pm. All welcome.
