The accident happened around 3.28pm on Tuesday when it’s alleged a 17-year-old Nambucca Heads who was driving south in a Honda sedan and a northbound truck, collided.
The driver of the sedan was trapped for a period of time before being released by VRA and local fire crews.
The young man was taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital with serious leg injuries, abdominal and chest injuries.
Both lanes of the Pacific Highway were blocked, with traffic delays occurring for some time into the early evening.
The 65-year-old male driver of the truck was not injured, however the damage to the vehicle caused major oil and fluid leakage.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
