Launched at BDC, the mobile training unit is a fully fitted-out coach to be used as a training centre – complete with work stations, a projector screen, internet access and other facilities – designed to provide mobile classroom facilities.
“The aim of the unit is to provide training to people on the Mid North Coast, where such education and training services may not be easily accessible,” Mr Hartsuyker said.
“Transport is a major barrier to many young people gaining access to training, but this mobile training unit overcomes this problem by taking training to the people.
“I’m excited to see this amazing coach go into action and providing a chance for people in the area to take advantage of this mobile learning facility, which will see them increase their skill levels and lead to improved work opportunities.
“The mobile training unit is designed for the delivery and expansion of accredited Vocational Education Training (VET) for up to 20 students at a time.
“The fact the coach was built and fitted out by a local company is very impressive and proves that regional areas can
produce top quality products, more than equalling what is available from major metropolitan areas.
“I congratulate Express Coaches on the exceptional job they have done in making the unit a comfortable, complete working space for education.”
n Express Coaches was established in 1995, manufacturing made-to-order buses, coaches and specialty vehicles. The business currently employs 85 people across its two facilities in Macksville.
