The awesome foursome includes Marli Bateman, Wulaaran Walker and Tristan Bonney from Stuarts Point and District Little Athletics Club and Sam Goodwin from the Nambucca club.
Coaches Ritchie Donovan and Charlie Templeton praised the youngsters efforts and Ritchie said they are a determined bunch.
“I’m pleased with the way they have all been training,” he told the Guardian.
“I just want them to go out, run at their own ability and have good races.
“It’s a pretty daunting experience, but they are all set to improve on their results from regional, and for some, their last run at State.
“That’s the one thing they aim to do each time they race - do better than their last outing.
“Marli’s fitness is good, she just can’t put too much pressure on herself. Sam surprised himself at regional - he just knuckled down and went, so he’ll do great; and Wulaaran, she’s a little goer - has a good tussle with a girl from Bonny Hills every time, I think she’ll get her this time though.”
Marli will compete at State for the first time in two events - the 400m and 800m, Sam will compete in the 400m, Wulaaran in the triple jump, discus and 100m and Tristan in the 200m in their respective age groups.
