This is the largest tournament of its kind in the world with 330 teams playing more than 1100 games over the two-and-a-half days and approximately 17,000 people converging on the facility daily.
Macksville teams competed in the 10s boys, 12s boys, 12s girls, 14s boys, 14s girls, 18s boys and 18s girls divisions.
In training since October, the teams had all improved their skills and ability.
As age groups are not graded, teams have the opportunity to play against the best the State has to offer.
Heavy rain before and during the competition turned the 27 fields to slush with flood water finally turning the fields into a lake and leaving organisers no option but to abandon play.
This was especially disappointing for the 14s girls team who qualified for the finals but were unable to play.
Despite the washout, several players were selected in the Northern Eagles regional teams.
Full teams reports in today's Guardian.
